"This is an excellent and original novel and, no, it is not porn. But, it deals with a new idea, one which causes the porn industry to erupt, and looks at how the legal system tries to deal with ownership and responsibility through a series of trials. The book is structured as a dialog between the principals and a journalist, so that the novel progresses as a trial would, through question and answer. This structure works well to hang a diverse number of observations about culture, money, the legal system, originality, intellectual property and journalistic ethics on, but the plot is fast and tight. It is also hilarious in a dark but logical way. The author, who is British, completely gets the American mind. In words like, "the American way: plagiarism and litigation..." and "guess that's America: it doesn't matter if you're right; it only matters who can pay someone to defend the fact that you might be right the longest," he nails our litigious preoccupations. And it is still funny! This is a book well worth buying and reading. I hope Mr. Hazard has more up his sleeve."
